Made by
A working broadcast / audio engineer, for real production use.
Generates SMPTE LTC / BWF timecode files — single, batch (one file per downbeat across a span), or one continuous file — at every broadcast frame rate (23.976 / 24 / 25 / 29.97 / 30), drop or non-drop, rendered at the exact rate (no rounding).
The timecode DSP is independently verified (exhaustive 24-hour drop-frame round-trip + an independent biphase decode).
Streams real-time LTC locked to a public global timecode — a UTC-accurate reference you lock to over HTTP — so productions can stay in sync across locations.
Boilerplate (about)
DropFrame is a free, browser-based broadcast-timecode toolkit built by a working broadcast and audio engineer. It generates verified SMPTE LTC and Broadcast Wave files entirely in the browser — nothing is uploaded — and runs a public, always-on global timecode that productions can lock to over the internet to stay in sync across locations. dropframe.app
Please position it honestly: the global timecode is a millisecond-level position reference over the internet — great for keeping devices and crews aligned across locations — not a substitute for sample-accurate genlock. The file generator produces exact, verified timecode files.
